Birthdays Are Good For You...

Hello,

Well, it's been a long day today... We went to the camp where we will be having a fun adventure next month with some of our home ed friends :) We thought it would be good to see exactly where it was, what was on offer and to get an idea of what we could do with the kids... The guy that met us never stopped talking, lol, and it was 2 hours before we finally managed to get away and set off home! The place looks good though - it is used by Scouts etc and there is a choice of facilities but we chose the bunk rooms, lol, for a change... Surrounded by woodland it will be a fab few days, more so as we are allowed a camp fire, yay!!

Anyway, home now, and back to business...  This card is for a friend's birthday...another home educator, who we have yet to actually physically meet. We've been chatting on FB for months and she is coming down next month for a weeks holiday, stopping on a caravan site near Filey...

The backing is a mixture of glitter card, pearlescent  card and backing papers from some pads I have. The girl, which I stamped, coloured with Promarkers and cut out, has gems on her shoes and hairband so she is sparkly. The butterfly i have had for AGES - Any thought they were nice and bought them but I have never used them till now! I sparkled it up somewhat with some gems... I finished it off with the fun sentiment :)

I am going to enter this in the  Kaboodle Doodles Challenge Blog 'Dress for Success Challenge' and the Crazy 4 Challenges 'Birthday Card' Challenge  C4C137

Bye for now,

SHARE MY DREAMS
Hello again

Card number 2!! Though I'm sure I won't always be able to post in quick succession, lol. However, we've done our work for today - The Battle of Quiberon Bay and spellings.... - so now it's me time :)

This is a diamond shaped card out of a pack I've had lying around for a while. The papers were downloads off one of the card making mag sites and the teddy is a Forever Friends decoupage that's been begging to be used for some time.

It is nicely finished off with a few silk flowers, buttons, bows and gems from my stash.

I am entering this card for the Allsorts Challenge which this week is Buttons and Bows!

Hello!

Well, here is the first card for 2012... A wedding card using a lovely bear stamp that I've had for yonks :)  Lace, buttons, gems finish it off nicely... For me it's about enjoying and relaxing, and entering challenges is just for fun; we don't have the money to buy all the latest stash and just try and make the most of what I already have :)

I am entering the card into the Polka Doodles WK 20 Challenge - "something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue". The stamp is the 'old', 'new' is the scalloped frame, I 'borrowed' the sentiment and the 'blue' is all over!

There are some fab DT cards, great ideas!

Bye for now,

READY....STEADY...GO!

Well, can't believe it's been soooo long since I last checked in here..... Unfortunately, life happened including our friend and neighbour becoming ill and then dying :(

But now I am trying to keep busy inbetween sessions with Josh and his home education...so hopefully I'll be back very soon with some cards to display :)

A Christmas Card WITHOUT Red and Green

GOOD MORNING!

Well, what a day yesterday - thunder, thunder and more thunder; which meant I spent most of the day with a quilt over my head! Let's hope today is not the same - more so because it is far too hot under a thick quilt!!!

After a busy week putting the final details together for the home education visits I have organised for July, and a fantastic day out on Thursday at Eden Camp, it would be nice to have a relaxing weekend. BUT alas, that is not to be. We have visitors coming tomorrow so need to have a humongous tidy up!!!!!!!  So not much crafting will be done this weekend :(

Anyway, this card is for the Winter Wonderland challenge - red and green should not be seen. I intend to send this to Andy's boss (and his wife) at Christmas, lol! I'm not sure he will see the funny side but to be honest I don't really like him...  ;-)

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

LOVE,
PAULA XXX

Home Sweet Home

GOOD EVENING!

Wow, it's almost a week since my last post!  Too much to do and so little time - gardening, (boring) housework... Then of course we have the 2 puppies - it was Dill's first time out in the big wide world too on Saturday  :)   On top of all this our son is home educated so we have work to do and prepare etc and lots of visits and trips out. Busy, busy, busy...

Anyway, I did finally manage to get down to some crafting - 2 1/2 cards to be exact!  This is the first one. It is for the Polka Doodles challenge - Home Sweet home.

It is all purpley, blue and silver, some of my favourite colours. I love the saying Home is Where the Heart Is as it is so true.  Andy and I (and now Josh) have lived all over the place since we met in 1996 but nowhere felt like home until we moved here on February 2010. Our hearts are very much in this home...

Hugs and Kisses

Hello,

Well it looks as if the weather is about to change but fingers crossed that we bypass the storms - I am TERRIFIED of them  :(  Both Josh, my son, and myself have been busy making cards and he is hoping to enter a challenge soon :)

This card I made for a couple of challenges. First up is the Allsorts Challenge Blog whose theme is 'Lemon and Lime' and also the One stop Craft Challenge Blog whose theme is 'Get Well Soon'.

I love this sweet little mouse - he looks to be having so much fun, lol! The ribbon is a combination of old and new stash and the green flowers are yet more of those we received from our friends' in Greece! I thought the sentiment was different from the usual 'Get Well Soon' - more light hearted    :)

Hope you like!
